The Revolver Born from a particularly frustrating weekend of printer maintenance, tinkering and DIY I bring you “The Revolver”.

I wanted to create a high ratio planetary gearbox that uses external gears only, for 2 reasons: - easier teeth clearance tuning, - in the future should be possible to replace 3d printed gears with on-shelf metal gears. The gearbox uses external gears, 1 and 1.25 teeth module. The planetary ratio is 400:1, total ratio 3600:1. Non printed parts: - 6 bearings 625 - 1 bearing 5201 M3 screws and nuts (8+8), M5x25 bolts (3) M5x65 bolts (3) M5 nuts (6) For testing purposes I used GM3408H BLDC motor and an original driver package. There is optional output for LPD3806 encoder. Satellite gears placement is important. Please check the STEP file to learn more. Note: process of support removal from planetary carrier (input_bracket.stl) is not fun at all and needs some patience.

This is still a bit of a work in progress but I think it's mostly workable now. Warning! There be overhangs here! I have yet to see what sort of torque this can handle but it seems like it will handle quite a bit.

I recommend printing with as sliced with a 0.4mm nozzle. The model should be fully dense. We did have to clean up the round hole on the bottom side with a 5/32 drill bit for a very good fit.
