The templates are reusable 3D printable fabrication aids for marking accurate fishmouth, saddle notch and tube cope profiles before cutting and fitting round tubing. DESIGNED TUBE SIZE: Ø60.3 mm / approximately 2.37 in outside diameter The working principle is simple. Slide the required template over the Ø60.3 mm tube, align it for the planned joint and trace the cutting contour directly onto the metal. The template can then be removed and the tube cut close to the marked fishmouth profile. Final fitting can be completed using an angle grinder, belt grinder, file, carbide burr or another suitable metalworking tool. WORKFLOW: 1. Choose the required angle: 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75° or 90°. 2. Slide the Fishmouth Pipe Notching Template onto the tube. 3. Position and align the template. 4. Mark the complete cutting contour. 5. Remove the printed template. 6. Rough-cut the tube. 7. Finish the fishmouth profile. 8. Test the tube against the mating tube. 9. Correct the fit if necessary. 10. Tack and weld after confirming alignment. Nominal pipe and tube descriptions can differ from the actual outside diameter, particularly between metric and imperial tubing standards. Tube tolerances, welded seams, paint or coatings, filament properties and printer calibration may also affect template fit. Printing one template first as a fit test is strongly recommended before producing the entire set. Always check the final fishmouth joint directly on the actual tubes before welding.
