Overview

Complete 6-piece digital STL set of Fishmouth Pipe Notching Templates designed for 2.75 in round tubing, commonly referenced as approximately 70 mm. These reusable 3D printable workshop templates are designed for accurately marking fishmouth, saddle-notch and tube-coping profiles when one round tube needs to intersect another round tube at a defined angle. INCLUDED ANGLES: - 15° - 30° - 45° - 60° - 75° - 90° ALL 6 STL templates are included in this single listing. TUBE OUTSIDE DIAMETER: 2.75 in / approximately 70 mm The primary reference size for this template set is 2.75 in outside diameter. 2.75 in = 69.85 mm. The 70 mm designation is used as the rounded metric reference for this tubing size. Each Fishmouth Pipe Notching Template slides directly onto the tube and acts as a reusable physical guide for marking the required cutting contour. Choose the required angle, slide the corresponding template onto the 2.75 in tube, align it correctly and trace the complete fishmouth profile directly onto the metal with a marker. After marking, remove the template and cut close to the traced contour. Final shaping can then be completed using an angle grinder, belt sander, file, carbide burr or another suitable fabrication tool until the tubes fit together correctly. HOW TO USE: 1. Select the required angle: 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75° or 90°. 2. Slide the corresponding template onto the 2.75 in tube. 3. Align the template correctly for the planned joint. 4. Trace the complete fishmouth cutting profile onto the tube. 5. Remove the printed template. 6. Cut close to the marked contour. 7. Finish the notch with a grinder, file or another suitable tool. 8. Test-fit the tube against the mating tube. 9. Make minor adjustments if necessary. 10. Tack weld after confirming correct fit and alignment. 11. Complete the final weld according to your fabrication process. COMMON APPLICATIONS: - Performance exhaust fabrication - Custom exhaust systems - Exhaust tubing fabrication - Exhaust headers - Exhaust manifolds - Turbo manifold fabrication - Exhaust collectors - Intake and charge piping - Motorsport fabrication - Automotive fabrication - Motorcycle projects - Roll cage fabrication - Tube chassis construction - Space frames - Off-road fabrication - TIG welding - MIG welding - General tube fabrication 2.75 in tubing is commonly used in performance exhaust systems, custom automotive fabrication, motorsport projects and other tubular assemblies. The six included angles provide a practical range for common tube-to-tube intersections. Once printed, the templates can be kept in the workshop and reused whenever the same tube diameter and intersection angle are required. This eliminates the need to manually calculate the tube intersection or create a new disposable paper pattern for every cut. DIGITAL PRODUCT ONLY. This listing contains SIX digital STL files for 3D printing. No physical templates, metal tubing, exhaust components, cutting tools, welding equipment or other workshop items are included. IMPORTANT: These templates are designed for tubing with an actual outside diameter of 2.75 in / 69.85 mm. The “70 mm” designation in the listing is a rounded metric reference. Always measure the actual outside diameter of your tubing before printing. Tube manufacturing tolerances, welded seams, coatings, filament shrinkage and 3D printer dimensional accuracy can influence the final fit of the printed template. For best results, print one template first and test it directly on the actual 2.75 in tubing before printing the complete six-piece set. These templates are marking and fabrication aids. Always perform a final physical fit-up of the cut tubes before tack welding or final welding.
