Overview

I've now developed a short wheelbase version (Black Trans Am in the photos)and a long wheelbase version (Miata with clear body in the pictures) as well as other wheel options, longer body mounts, rubber or sponge tire options, lots of variations... To complete this, you must purchase Tamiya front uprights, rear diff and axle (basically the metal bits.) If someone can design and 3d print front uprights, rear axles, and diff gear pins that don't break, I'd love to add that to this design. Edit, I've updated with all the diff gears that I have successfully printed, they're added to the files section now along with some more wheel choices for larger rubber tires and also a short wheelbase and long wheelbase chassis variants. I have built a few of these and they are very strong and light and rip very fast laps even with a stock (chinese copy) of the basic Tamiya 540 motor. The front wheels and rear motor box all take standard sized bearings. I have been able to easily install standard foam (sponge) tires on the wheels, the sizing is perfect. This will fit the wheelbase of a 1980's Tamiya 956 1/12 scale RC body perfectly. The new one is 1/10 scale, so I don't think this would be a good chassis for the new reissue's wheelbase. I print exclusively in PETG but I bet this would work fine in other filaments. I print the parts that take a lot of impact at 80-100% infill, the other parts at 20-40% All of the bodies I sourced from Team Blue Groove and all decals I source from MCI Racing. Link to just the nest version of the larger wheels and tires:
