Overview

This collection includes elbows, street elbows, and reducing variants of both. You can pick any angle (0 degrees up to about 135 degrees), and any size (1/8" NPT to 12" NPT). Reducing street ells can reduce in either direction. As with anything based on this thread library, you can customize thread clearances independently in the SCAD without messing up the thread geometry (like a global scaling would).

Included is an assortment of prerendered STLs for various configurations up to 1.5" NPT.

I didn't really have any particular reason to make this. I just thought it was a chance to do more testing with the thread library. I've wanted custom-angle or custom reducer elbows before, but it's rare that a weak, porous, heat-sensitive plastic elbow would suffice.

I shouldn't have to tell you that using FDM printed parts for pressurized fluid applications is going to be somewhere between a disappointment and a disaster. You have been warned.

There really are no ideal ways to print most elbows. You're free to try whatever support ideas you have. My half-baked attempts aren't worth sharing. It's just way too hot and humid right now to get good overhangs.

The polygonal body is sized proportionally, and does not conform to any nominal wrench size. Use an adjustable wrench or pliers, as you would with any other threaded plastic fitting.

Since the model halves pivot about the inner surface of the part, small-angle reducing ells will be eccentric. Designing the bend this way tends to keep the elbow as short (and strong) as possible for the given angle. The offsets on the street ells may look a bit lopsided, but that's because it's designed such that both plain and street ells have compatible offsets.
