Overview

Purpose I couldn't find any good neon Fallout signs to buy or download, so I decided to make my own. This is my first time designing a model, so please be gentle if it's not perfect. However, I'm open to constructive criticism. How To and Other Details I envisioned the sign to be quite large, so I split it into three parts and superglued them together. This worked well for me, but you can use other methods to join these parts if your printer is only around 220x220mm, like mine. I've included a full model too, in case you can print the whole thing outright. The sign is designed to fit LED rope lights that are approximately 5mm wide and 11mm tall, like the ones I got from AliExpress. There's a canal under the lights for wiring, along with routing holes through each letter and the frame. You'll likely need some basic soldering skills for this project. Most LED strips aren't precut to the lengths needed for this sign, so I did a lot of cutting, splicing, and soldering. My lights in particular weren't great to work with so the ends of each light segment aren't *exactly* as I imagined and could've come out cleaner. Overall, I think it came out pretty good. I ended up using less than 10 meters of LED rope, 5mm wide. For my specific lights, the manufacturer recommended 8-12W/m, so I used a 24V 3A power supply. For wiring, I used 24AWG, but 22AWG might be better suited depending on your lights. Lastly, I recommend getting a simple LED controller so you can switch it on and off with an RF remote. Thank You Thank you for checking out my project. Apologies for the informal description, but I just wanted to get this online so others can start this cool project!
