Overview

I built a pad printing machine to make my own watch dials. This is a technique widely used in watchmaking because it produces parts with very precise details, but it often requires a lot of fine-tuning to achieve a good result. This is the first version, so there are certainly things that can be improved ,please don’t hesitate to share your ideas for improvements. She currently costs less than 100 €.

I'm not very comfortable creating an exploded view in Onshape to show the complete assembly, but I don't think it's very complicated. However, if you have any trouble, I'll do my best to help you. Here you can find the 3D model if you want to make any changes

I'm not happy with this part yet; it still moves too much and isn't as precise as the other system for controlling alignment. I'm leaving it for now, but it'll probably end up getting ditched.

I didn't take the time to count all the screws, but I recommend buying this kind of kit, the machine uses M3 screws and 1x M4 L30 or 35

a tube with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 150 mm

You'll need three M3 inserts, but I'm not entirely satisfied with my setup right now; I'm planning to change that.

Beware, I didn't use standard T-slots; I printed these ones, which are really cool.

The last part you'll need is a cliché, a metal plate with your design laser-engraved on it. I haven't modeled this part yet because I'm still looking for someone to engrave my design, but since all these parts are different, I don't think that will be much help to you.
