Overview
Hello ! Here's the latest and most advanced variant of my BFG Frag concept : the PMG209-EVO. It uses all the evolutions I made over time, the feedback I got, all the months I had to test and upgrade it. For newcomers, to quickly summarize the idea, the project you see here is a Blank Firing ‘nade, using primers or blank to generate a bang. This allows you to have a reusable throwable potato for extremely cheap. I’ve been using those for a few monthes now. They have been made to fulfill 2 main objectives : being functional and being plausible from a design standpoint. They have a format (42mm body) and a design that are inspired by existing training frags, with makes those a good option for larping and Milsim events. By having this design they also fill standard pouches without trouble (perfect on Ferro style pouches for example). I added a hole for an elastic cord, to connect the body to the pin. I lost too many safety pins with the old versions, now it stays connected to the frag at any time. The body has been split in 2 parts : the upper and the lower. The upper has all the mechanical parts, and can be removed from the lower to rearm the mechanism by hand (as opposed to old versions). This makes it, by far, much comfier to use for caffeine-fueled frag throwers like me. This version uses 100% standardized components, which means you can assemble it with parts directly out of their packaging. No need to cut, sand, sharpening… Easy to print, easy to assemble (2 minute job, even less), easy to source hardware. Several bottom version available : 209, 9PAK and 6mm Flobert. Depending on the bottom you chose, you may have to sharpen the firing pin a bit (the 9PAK and 6FLO likes it pointy, for example. 209 doesn’t need modifications).
