Overview
This is the Wolf Machine, a project (heavily) inspired by Valve's Steam Machine. Using off the shelf PC parts you can build a compact Steam Machine clone that, while larger, is still quite small at just 230mm x 230mm x 230mm (L x W x H). If you were considering building a small form factor PC as an alternative to the Steam Machine, this is the print for you. I designed this case with airflow in mind and so far have not experience overheating, even during 4k gaming sessions. Keep in mind that this is not meant for high end components, modesty is recommended (though you can easily upgrade to a more modern AM5 or Intel Mini-ITX platform). Likewise, keep in mind that 3D printed components like this are prone to fatigue and warping when they come in contact with things that generate heat. Select your print material accordingly (ABS or PETG-CF are generally good choices). Design Considerations: I designed this case with airflow and ease of use in mind, while also including a customizable face plate. With this design, you build the PC outside the main chassis and, when ready, slide the whole motherboard and back panel into the case. I included large cutouts for power button and USB port installation. It was also design to fit within a 256 x 256 x 256 print bed size so it should be compatible with most 3D printer in that size. This computer case supports the following: - Standard Mini-ITX Motherboards - Standard SFX Power Supplies - Low Profile CPU Coolers using up to 120mm CPU Fans - 1x 120mm Case Fan, standard thickness (thicker fans may also fit) - Dual Slot GPUs up to ~8 inches in length Non-3D Printable Parts List: - 9x 8mm M3 Screws - 2x 8mm M2 Screws - USB-A to USB 3.1 Motherboard Header (Such as this one from Amazon: - 12mm LED Momentary Switch (Such as this one from Amazon: - Computer Parts (Obviously!) Instructions for use: 1.) Print all the parts in the list (You can choose to print either front panel. They're identical other than the little wolf logo in the middle) 2.) Install the power button, USB ports (using 4x 8mm M2 screws), and chassis fan (Air flow should be front to rear, use standard PC fan screws) 3.) Build your PC using the motherboard tray. Attach the required PSU cables to the motherboard, but do NOT attach the power supply to the back panel or connect the cables to the power supply. 4.) Slide the motherboard tray into the main chassis, connect the power button, USB header, and fan to the motherboard, and secure the motherboard tray to the main chassis using 4x 8mm M3 screws. 5.) Slot the power supply tray into the slot at the top rear of the main chassis, then place your power supply on top of the tray (fan up), align it with the power supply holes on the back panel, and secure it to the back panel with the screws included with your power supply. 6.) Connect the CPU, Motherboard, and GPU power power cables to the power supply and cable manage as best you can (there isn't much room, so good luck!) 7.) Test boot your PC (recommended). 8.) Affix the lid to the main chassis using 5x 8mm M3 screws. 9.) Attach the front panel to the main chassis by aligning the hooks. 10.) Enjoy your Wolf Machine.
