Overview
These replacement wheel mounts were designed for the Latitude 45°N Large Suitcase, but they may also be suitable for adaptation to other luggage.
The original wheel assembly failed during travel due to an undersized swivel bearing.
This redesigned assembly replaces the original with a more durable mount that uses 50 mm suitcase wheels with integrated roller bearings and a metal thrust bearing for smooth swivel action. The printed mount includes a centering feature that secures the thrust bearing while allowing the assembly to be fully tightened without restricting rotation.

Remove the wheel bracket from the suitcase.
This required drilling out multiple rivets which were replaced with Chicago Screws when reassembled.
Drill out rivet holding wheel mount to the bracket.
Place three-piece thrust bearing on the top of the printed wheel mount.
Use Binding post screw to mount the printed wheel mount to the wheel bracket.
Install 50mm suitcase wheels into the new wheel mounts, use the included washers as necessary for dimensional mismatch.
Reattach the wheel bracket to the suitcase.
