Dowel Sleeves for Filament Spool Shelf (20 mm)

Open sleeve has a through bore and slides anywhere along the dowel. Use as many as you like, print several if you want them at multiple positions.

Closed sleeve has a 26 mm blind bore and a 5 mm closed face. It goes on the exposed end of the dowel and finishes it off.

Fit

Bore is Ø20.5 mm, so 0.5 mm clearance on a nominal 20 mm dowel. Slides on by hand, no force needed. Wooden dowels vary, so if yours is oversized, scale the parts 100.5 to 101 percent in the slicer rather than reprinting a different bore. If it ends up loose, a strip of tape on the dowel takes up the slack.

Not compatible with the 23 mm or 1 inch dowel versions of the shelf.

Dimensions

Ø30 mm flanges, Ø25 mm body, Ø20.5 mm bore, 31 mm long, 2.25 mm wall. See the dimensioned section drawing in the gallery.

Printed on a Bambu Lab A1, 0.4 mm nozzle, textured PEI plate.

Layer height 0.2 mm

3 wall loops

15 percent infill

No supports

Print upright, as oriented in the file

PLA works and is what I used. PETG is the better choice if the shelf sits somewhere warm or in direct sun.
