Overview
This compliant soccer ball is made from PLA and weighs under 30 grams. It is made of 30 bars and 20 joints, assembled in under 5 minutes. The shape is based on a dodecahedron, with five bars and five joints at each hole. Bars are latched at the joints and flexed into shape, which stores elastic energy and makes the ball bounce. Print this with a uniform layer height of 1.2mm, including the first layer. Parts may need to be compensated for tolerance, such as with X-Y contour compensation in Bambu Studio. PLA was used though other materials can be tried.
