Added a modded version that uses a filament cutting as hinge instead of a screw.
This is a 3D printable 2.5" HP Gen8 / Gen9 dummy caddy (blank filler) designed to occupy empty hot-swap drive bays.
Instead of leaving unused drive slots open, this insert blocks the airflow from escaping through empty bays, helping maintain proper front-to-back cooling across the installed drives. It also gives your server a cleaner and more finished appearance by covering unused openings.

It is mechanically compatible with HP ProLiant Gen8 and Gen9 2.5" drive bays and uses the same retention mechanism as the original HP caddies.

It cannot hold a hard drive or SSD and contains no electronic components.

No supports are required if your machine can handle bridges but recommended.

Many enterprise servers rely on proper airflow through the drive cage for effective cooling. Leaving empty drive bays open allows cooling air to bypass the installed drives, reducing airflow where it is needed most.
This dummy caddy helps restore the intended airflow path while providing a clean, professional-looking front panel.
