Overview

A modular flatbed system designed for the Redcat Ascent-18 Apex using the factory body.

The bed and headache rack are separate, removable parts, allowing the different styles to be mixed and matched without reprinting the entire assembly.

Included files:

Plain flat-style bed

Read the full description

Horizontal plank-style bed

Vertical plank-style bed

Slotted headache rack

X-brace headache rack

The beds were designed to mount to the factory Apex body while maintaining clearance for the rear suspension and tires. The latest versions are slightly shorter than my original test prints for improved fit.

Recommended print setup:

0.4 mm nozzle

0.20 mm layer height

Four walls

15–25% infill

Print the beds vertically as oriented in the included Bambu Studio profile

Supports may be required depending on the selected part and printer settings

Assembly: Mount the headache rack to the bed using at least three M2 × 8 mm screws. Additional mounting holes are provided for alternate screw locations or a more secure attachment.

Installation: When installing the body, the rear of the cab may need to be bowed inward slightly to clear the headache rack. Once it passes the rack, slide the body forward and engage the factory front body mounts.

Fitment: This design has been tested with the factory Redcat Ascent-18 Apex body. Fitment with aftermarket or modified bodies may vary.

Notes: Fit may vary slightly depending on printer calibration, body placement, hardware, and vehicle modifications. Test-fit all parts before final assembly and confirm screw length before tightening.

Feedback: Feedback is welcome. Feel free to share photos of your print or suggest other bed, rack, or accessory ideas for future versions.
