Twisted Hobbys/RC Factory - Step 2 Battery door

RC model Step 2 is very good as second plane for beginners. My youngest son like it, but we do not like the design of battery tray. Therefore, I designed a simple battery door, for easy accessibility of battery space. The plate for battery we placed at top of battery space, and the battery itself is fixed by Velcro on battery and small Velcro belt, passed under the battery plate. The manipulation with battery is now very simple. As a hinge is used 1,5mm wire, which can be simple removed with doors, if you need full access to battery space. The knob is connected to slider with piece of carbon rod, but you can use any plastic or wood rod with diameter about 3mm. I recommend using some Vaseline around hole to prevent stick knob and slider to door during glueing. Glue the slider first to the rod, outside of door, then place the slider into door and glue the knob from top hole. Almost any material can be used (PLA, PETG, PCTG....). The support is optional - may be required only for hinge area of door, but the opposite hinge width is designed wider than required, so you can simply cut the lower part of hinge on doors, which can be printed incomplete to fit it well.
