Overview
LLK CB1 — SCX30 PERFORMANCE CHASSIS PERFORMANCE OVER EVERYTHING. CB1 is not Anomaly 2.0. It started with a blank sheet and one simple question: How far can we push the SCX30 platform if conventional packaging stops being a requirement? The result is a 116mm wheelbase performance chassis built around an extreme 22.5° skid angle, ultra-short front geometry and a carrier-bearing three-shaft driveline. At only 17mm longer than a stock SCX30, CB1 doesn't simply add wheelbase — it completely redistributes it around performance. The front end is compressed as tightly as possible, while the rear uses extreme high-clearance links and a split driveline to create the belly and breakover geometry CB1 was designed around. THE CB1 APPROACH CB1 does things differently. The front axle doesn't use a conventional pair of upper links. Instead, a short, fixed-length single universal-joint front driveshaft forms part of the axle-control system, working alongside the lower links and shocks to locate the axle while still allowing it to articulate. Behind the transmission, a carrier bearing splits the driveline into two sections, allowing the huge rear-link geometry without forcing the chassis to work around one enormous conventional driveshaft. The front lower links also contain internal tungsten pockets, allowing them to be loaded with tungsten putty and putting useful mass extremely low and toward the front axle. The electronics packaging follows exactly the same philosophy. No wasted space. My personal CB1 uses fully direct-soldered electronics with the connectors removed and unnecessary wire eliminated. When you're packaging something this tightly, every millimetre has to justify itself. REQUIRED DONOR PARTS / DRIVELINE ASSEMBLY CB1 is an advanced builder's chassis and requires a couple of donor components to complete its unique driveline. For the front driveline you will need: • 1x stock plastic SCX30 front driveshaft The stock plastic driveshaft is disassembled and rebuilt in a different configuration to create the short, fixed-length single universal-joint front driveshaft required by CB1. No cutting or permanent modification of the driveshaft components is required. This short fixed shaft forms part of CB1's front axle-control system, working alongside the lower links and shocks in place of a conventional pair of front upper links. For the carrier-bearing assembly you will also need: • 1x transmission output shaft from either a stock SCX30 transmission or a MEUS transmission This output shaft is used within the CB1 carrier-bearing driveline and is not included as a printable component. IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING CB1 IS FOR BUILDERS. This is not intended to be a simple bolt-on conversion or a chassis that holds your hand through the build. You will need to be comfortable disassembling and rebuilding donor components, assembling the unconventional driveline and tuning the finished chassis. The electronics package is also extremely compact. My personal CB1 uses direct-soldered electronics with all connectors removed to minimise the space required. If you intend to replicate my electronics setup, soldering ability is required. Due to the extremely limited space available, I cannot guarantee that any alternative electronics, connectors or wiring configurations will fit. Please take this into consideration before purchasing and plan your electronics package accordingly. The supplied files give you the CB1 platform and the geometry we've developed.
