Overview
I found a basic hub nut socket model but thought it could benefit from an improved design so this is it;
52mm deep socket
1/2" drive - if you have 3/8" or 1/4" I'd recommend using a 1/2 adapter to spread the loads on the printed part.
27mm (wheel nut) sized hex on the back which is also spreading the torque more evenly on the print
Smoothed transitions inside + on top to minimise stress risers
Prints with no supports needed
Ideally print in something tough (duh) with extra wall thickness as that appears to give more strength than adding infill.
This has been tested in standard PETG with the common wheel bearing setup where you apply gentle torque (10-20nm) to set the preload and then add the locknut and works great.
The later setup where you apply 100+nm to the nut will probably break it but if someone wants to print & test it with that setup I'd love to hear the outcome.
I have not uploaded the .scad file because my code is ugly and the shape is pretty basic, if you really want a copy shoot me a message.
