Overview

This is a threaded broomstick/telescopic pole mount for the common 1/4 wave ground plane VHF/UHF antenna that we all know and love, built around an SO-239 or N-type panel connector depending on your needs/preferences. An easy to build, quickly deployable antenna for beginners, those who need something quick and dirty for field work, or emergency situations. The thread size for the bracket is 3/4" ACME which is the standard for North America and I presume internationally. This design is not weatherproof as-is and will require use of sealant to make it so. The top hat and radial caps are sized for 3/32" wire but can easily be resized by the end-user either physically or by design. The only part of the print that requires supports is the top hat piece. PLA should be more than adequate for temporary use but more robust heat/UV resistant materials are recommended for long term outdoor/permanent use. When assembling, make sure to put the top cap over the connector before snapping the top hat on for ease of installation. This design was built to suit my personal needs and may or may not work for you. I plan on making a version that mounts easily to a mast. Thanks for looking.
