Overview
Need a pick holder on your music stand or mic stand? Want to avoid glue or clamps? This pick holder was designed to use a rare earth magnet to snap it easily to a metal stand. You can find strong magnets at stores like Home Depot or Lee Valley tools, but I chose to buy myself a torx screwdriver set and harvest one out of an old hard drive. The neodymium magnets are ludicrously strong, and really easy to salvage; Check YouTube for details. This design is a remix that stems back to a design by Durac but has a little pocket to stash a magnet or two to help keep it stuck on the stand. It works incredibly well! The magnet I used fits perfectly and stays in place without glue. Caution - do a little research before playing with powerful magnets and ripping open old hard drives. It's all fun and games until a phone gets erased.
