THE GATEHUNTER TOOTHPICK POD ================================ Finally, my first Kabab FPV inspired toothpick style build with a custom pod I designed for the Caddx EOS 2. I was really curious if these things actually fly as well people say and I was not disappointed! The speed of this little quad (although it is really fast for its size) was actually not the most impressive thing about it. What really blew my mind was how good the flight characteristics are. While the other micros I flew all felt kind of sluggish and lacked control this thing is super locked and precise. It feels literally like a little well tuned 5 Inch!!! The other aspect that is just really awesome is that these little toothpicks solve one of the main issues I have with our regular 5" quads: They are fin noisy! I live in a densely populated city and it is really hard to find a spot that is not super far away and has nobody living nearby that is bothered by the noise. The Toothpick style set-up I used is completely based on the Kabab FPV recommendations. He really did an incredibly great job with his component choice! What I modified are are the cama and VTX. I wanted something with more image quality so I went for the Caddx EOS2 and a TBS Unify Nano VTX :-) Recommended setup: ==================== - FPV 360 Park Racer Frame I used (17€) - The original Kabab FPV frame ($16) - Printable Gatehunter Frame: - Crazybee F4 pro with FrSky receiver (39€) - Caddx Turbo EOS 2 (13€) 20% off coupon for the caddx: 8765c2 - Amax 1103 7500kV (4x10€) - TBS unify nano (25€) - Battery (8€) - XT30 connectors (4€) - Props (4€) - Total cost of the setup excl batteries: 142€** Other super useful infos & links: =============== Other small stuff you need: 1.4mm drill for the props. 14mm M2 screws & a tiny LiPo strap (unfortunately Amax doesn't seem to make them anymore).
